ENGAGEMENT WITH OUR DEMOCRACY: Now more than ever is the time to get more engaged with our political process, regardless of your political views.
A panel of leaders will profile their company voter outreach and engagement efforts.
Speakers from Allagash Brewery and ReVision Energy will share their impressive "Get out the Vote" programs for employees and the overall community to improve and engage in our democracy.
Nick Underwood is the founder of International Relocation Partners, a firm that works with organizations and their employees to plan and accomplish successful long term international assignments.
Working with the exceptional conscious capitalism community that the Portland Chapter is becoming, he now seeks both to help put Maine at the forefront of the conscious revolution, and challenge his own industry to recognize the positive impact conscious businesses can have on all stakeholders.
Tara Jenkins is the founder and co-lead of the Portland Conscious Capitalism Chapter. She is the founder of Conscious Revolution, a consulting practice that co-builds conscious businesses, and co-founder of Broad Views, a global community of women building the world they want to live in. She volunteers with Empower Work, the Olympia Snowe Leadership Institute and is Vice Chair of the ProsperityME Board of Directors.
Elizabeth Ross Holmstrom is co-lead of Conscious Captialism, Portland, Maine chapter . She is also the Founder and CEO of Mindful Employer. She helps companies understand how well their employees are connected with their company's purpose, leadership and culture with 10 simple and insightful questions, to help them begin their conscious journey. Eilzabeth brings twenty-five years of experience in employee engagement, wellbeing, and collaborative leadership development with Fortune 50 companies and start-ups.
David is the founder of HumanNatureAtWork.com, is consultant, speaker, and coach whose work focuses on helping employers create more human-friendly—and therefore higher performance—cultures. The author of over 100 articles and book chapters on employee engagement, leadership, and resilience, much of his work centers around how to have the courageous conversations needed to get better results. He is also the author of Dealing with the Difficult Co-worker: Volume One of the Courageous Conversations at Work Series.
Kris joins the team at Conscious Capitalism after spending the last 12 years with the National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS). During her time as part of this evolving non-profit, she held leadership roles in Marketing & Communications, Community Relations, and Program Management for Research Initiatives and Partnerships. Prior to NBTS, she directed marketing efforts for several for-profit businesses after starting her career in the agency world, guiding a diverse array of organizations in strategic branding, marketing, and communications. Most recently, Kris has been volunteering extensive time as part of the leadership team at Cooking for Community. Her engagement with Conscious Capitalism, Portland, Maine feeds her passion to empower people to create innovative business solutions that impact and elevate the well being of the community.
Lauren has 10 years of experience engaging diverse audiences in healthcare and academic settings in the U.S. and Europe. Currently based in Portland, ME, she works in Women's Health at Merck. She's been a volunteer at ILAP Maine and is a 2020 New Leaders Council Fellow - Maine Chapter. She hopes that CCI Portland creates opportunities for untapped groups in Maine.
Lisa Whited has a passion for improving workplaces and processes. She is a design thinker, change management strategist, leader, and community builder who is driven to make a dent in the abysmal Gallup statistic that 70% of people are disengaged at work. Lisa works with leaders who want to make positive change for their people and for the planet. She is founder and chief transformation officer of Workplace TransformationFacilitation based in Portland, Maine and also serves as a Senior Associate to Advanced Workplace Associates in the UK. My hopes and dreams for CCI Portland: To embrace and to be embraced by a community of people who change the world.
Michael Stern is the founder of Integral Alignment and the co-founder of the Emerging Leaders Project. His mission is to support current and future leaders on their journey of self-actualization and creating a more beautiful world. He is a certified Emotional Intelligence coach who has worked with a broad range of individual and institutional clients including Johnson & Johnson, the University of Virginia, and Good Shepherd Services. Michael grew up in New York City, has lived in Spain, Thailand, and Nepal, and currently lives in Portland.
Erika is an entrepreneur who believes in the transformational power of transparency. She is dedicated to conscious capitialism because it aligns with her vision that innovation and purpose-driven invention knows no sector boundaries. Erika consults with companies, organizations and individuals on multistakeholder initiatives and collaborations that collapse of the silos between business, government, nonprofits and philanthropy. Erika has held leadership roles in tech, biotech, academia, government and philanthrophy from Silicon Valley, Capitol Hill, the New York metropolitan area to her new home, the great state of Maine. Erika is founder of The EGGroup, a strategic communications consulting firm based from Chebeague Island.
