Dear Friends,
So much happens in 15 years.
When I think back to 2008, I’m flooded with memories of the global financial crisis and the uncertainty and pain that resulted from that tumultuous period. And while I didn’t know it at the time, in the midst of all of that chaos, nearly 100 leaders were meeting just outside of Austin to consider how they could leverage business to make the world a better place. This group of leaders launched our very first Conscious Capitalism CEO Summit.
Fast forward six years, to my own first Summit in 2014, when I was CEO & President of PAR Technology (NYSE: PAR). The Conscious Capitalism book had just come out the year before and leaders around the world were beginning to see that business could do good in the world while also being profitable. I met so many open and impressive leaders during my first Summit, many of whom had been there from the beginning and many of whom I know I will see again in Austin this October.
And now, 15 years after that original group came together, we’re on the heels of yet another once-in-a-lifetime event but now leveraging business as a force for good is no longer a fringe idea, it’s an imperative for businesses around the globe.
At this year’s invitation-only Summit, we have an impressive group of speakers, both thought leaders and CEO’s, and we are celebrating our Conscious Capitalism community. We’re doing this on our mainstage as we feature evolving ideas from founding leaders like John Mackey and Raj Sisodia, and new ideas from IKEA’s Javier Quiñones, Whole Foods’ Jason Buechel, and New Profit’s Tulaine Montgomery, to name a few on this year’s incredible speaker lineup.
To celebrate this milestone, leaders in our Community are contributing experiences, services, and products — including world-class coaching and leadership development opportunities to dinners with founding leaders to the custom artwork of the Summit mainstage — to an auction all to support Conscious Capitalism, Inc.’s long-term vision to grow our movement to One Million Conscious Capitalist Leaders.
While space is filling up fast, we are still accepting nominations to be considered for an invitation to this year’s Summit. If you’re a CEO, President, or Founder of a company with $5M or above in annual revenue, nominate yourself or a peer today.
So much can happen in 15 years and we’re working hard at Conscious Capitalism, Inc. — through the support of our growing community — to ensure that when we celebrate our 30th CEO Summit, it will be in a more conscious world.
