Chapter Lead & Founding Board Member
As the founder of a purpose driven company, it was very exciting to learn there was an organization behind Conscious Capitalism. After hearing John Mackey speak, I immediately reached out to join the Kansas City chapter, only to find we did not have one – yet. A few months later, it became apparent that starting a chapter in Kansas City also helped fulfill (my company’s) Redemption Plus’ purpose. There is an amazing opportunity for learning and growth as we walk along this path with other companies and leaders that are attracted to the idea of elevating humanity through business!
Founder and Chief Enrichment Officer of Redemption Plus.
For over twenty years, Ron has been laser focused on innovating the delivery and redemption of merchandise for Family Entertainment Centers, along with every aspect that affects game room profitability and beyond. During that time, Redemption Plus has turned the industry on its head, and in the process, changed the way the entire segment operates. Customers win through increased efficiency, streamlined operations, and an end result that increases profitability through a better guest experience at their respective businesses. Ron is currently focused on helping change redemption into a tool for doing good, making the world a better place, and strengthening an entire industry — in addition to a few other Big Ideas!

Christina fell in love with Conscious Capitalism after hearing John Mackey of Whole Foods and Co-Founder and Co-Author of Conscious Capitalism speak on November 30, 2016 in Kansas City at the Helzberg Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program’s annual retreat. John shared some of his hard-earned wisdom from his own journey toward building a culture based on love, community, and purpose. This concept has been Christina’s life work and as she became aware of the Conscious Capitalism community she knew she needed to learn more. After reading Conscious Capitalism and attending the April 2017 Conscious Capitalism conference, both Ron Hill and Christina resolved to found a local Kansas City chapter, which they launched in November 1st, 2017 with six founding members.
Christina’s passion for Conscious Capitalism and the belief that companies can and should be a force for good has manifested itself in every aspect of her life. As the Culture Crusader (aka Chief People & Culture Officer) at Redemption Plus, Christina is responsible for developing and executing on human resource strategies that reinforce and support Redemption Plus’s overall culture, core values, behaviors, and strategic growth plans. As an experienced business owner, coach and consultant, her unique and well-rounded business acumen has proved invaluable, in driving the success of Redemption Plus, while building a partnership culture. Christina has over 15 years of non-profit board, committee and event planning experience and currently serves as a board member for Cultivate KC, a local non-profit working to grow food, farms, and communities for a healthy local food system. Christina and her husband, Gary, have two fur-baby “French Bulldogs” Fiona and Brutus that keep them busy and entertained. They love to garden, travel, read and, in their extra time, enjoy seeing art as well as making some of their own.

Sarah’s connection to Conscious Capitalism began with reading John Mackey and Raj Sisodia’s keystone book, Conscious Capitalism: Liberating the Heroic Spirit of Business. The tenets outlined in the book immediately resonated with her beliefs around the purpose and potential of free enterprise. In 2016, Sarah assisted Raj Sisodia and Nilima Bhat with the release of their book Shakti Leadership: Embracing Feminine and Masculine Power in Business, which launched at the Conscious Capitalism spring conference that year. Fueled by a desire to create a local community of like-minded, purpose-driven business leaders, Sarah is grateful to have had the opportunity to help start the Kansas City Conscious Capitalism Chapter.
As a producer at Lockton, Sarah works with clients to align their employee benefits and risk management strategies with their higher purpose as an organization. Viewed through the framework of Conscious Capitalism philosophies, her goal is to support her clients in recruiting and retaining the right people, fostering an authentic and culture and employment brand, and protecting their long-term financial sustainability. Growing up as the daughter of a small business owner in Kansas City, Sarah is passionate about supporting the “heroic spirit of business” and the positive ripples it creates.
