Wider Viewpoints: Jon Wergin, Author of Deep Learning in a Disorienting World

Dr. Jon Wergin is a Professor of Education Studies at Antioch University’s Graduate School of Leadership and Change, and an educational psychologist with a career spanning over 50 years. In his book Deep Learning In a Disorienting World, Jon examines the growing intolerance of worldviews other than one’s own, and invites the reader to lean into the “inevitable disquietude” that is required when we “refuse to be seduced by messages that feed existing biases, and instead embrace challenges to existing worldviews.” In this conversation with Jon, we’ll explore how this deep learning mindset, which treats incoming information thoughtfully and carefully, equates to the “Conscious” in Conscious Capitalism, and how that mindset results in a spark in curiosity, and an enhanced opportunity to change the world for the better.
