Charged with enthusiasm and a collaborative spirit, Candice is a Biologist who got into Business.

Candice is an entrepreneur and natural connector of ideas, people, and organizations. She strives to spark creativity and collaboration –within teams and across organizations– to deliver competitive, purposeful, sustainable solutions.

She is the Managing Partner of 10e5, a Houston-based consultancy providing accessible, world-class strategy, development, and management support throughout the innovation lifecycle. She’s cultivated high-performing intellectual asset portfolios in specialty chemicals, commercial software, and a range of upstream and downstream energy technologies for global enterprises. She recently launched a new venture in hospitality, The Ferns, which provides an idyllic country retreat and event space for busy urbanites to unwind and rebalance.

Candice earned degrees from Louisiana State University (BS, Microbiology), The University of Houston (PhD, Biology), and Tulane University (MBA, Finance & Management). She is also a licensed U.S. Patent Agent (USPTO, Department of Commerce).

One of her favorite seasons is “science fair season”! Candice has mentored emerging investigators for over two decades and is a long-time sponsor of K-12 STEM, young inventor competitions. She also advises award winning startups in pitch competitions and accelerator programs, and serves as judge for the Tulane Business Model competition. Candice’s creative outlets include planning the next family excursion, research & writing, and indulging in an ever-growing list of creative hobbies.
