Brenda Rowley

Vice President of Operations

, Rowleys Wholesale

Great Lakes Bay Region Chapter

After a rewarding career in business, I recently retired from Rowleys Wholesale, a family-owned company with more than a century of history, where I served as Vice President of Operations. Throughout my career, I have believed that businesses are at their best when success goes hand in hand with caring for people, supporting communities, and creating lasting value.

At Rowleys Wholesale, I oversaw operations for four distribution centers in Bay City and Southgate, Michigan, and Medina and Columbus, Ohio. Prior to joining Rowleys, I served as Vice President of Administration for Monitor Sugar Company (now Michigan Sugar Company), with responsibility for Human Resources, Risk Management, Packaging, and Warehousing. I feel fortunate to have spent my career with organizations whose values closely align with many of the principles of Conscious Capitalism.

As a proud founding board member of the Conscious Capitalism GLBR Chapter, I strongly embrace its four guiding principles: Higher Purpose, Stakeholder Orientation, Conscious Leadership, and Conscious Culture. These principles reflect values that have been important to me throughout my professional life.

I believe businesses can be successful while also making a meaningful difference in the lives of their employees, customers, communities, and other stakeholders. As I begin this next chapter and pursue real estate projects in semi-retirement, I look forward to carrying the principles of Conscious Capitalism with me and finding new ways to put them into practice.
