Conscious Capitalism, Inc. (CCI) will host its first student business plan competition at the 2017 Spring Conscious Capitalism Conference, taking place in Philadelphia, PA from April 18-20, 2017. The purpose of the competition will be to promote awareness of Conscious Capitalism and more broadly purpose-driven approaches to business to young people, as well as support the most innovative ideas developed by students from around the country to elevate humanity through business.
Submissions: Students who wish to enter the competition must first submit a 5-10 page business plan that includes analysis of how the business advances Conscious Capitalism. You may submit using the form here.
You may present the business plan in a way that you think will best represent your business, but be sure it at least includes:
- Executive summary
- The higher purpose of the business and how the business will live up to that purpose
- An explanation of how the business incorporates/advances Conscious Capitalism
- Description of product/service
- Market analysis
- Marketing plan
- Financial plan
- Bios of all team members
Finalists Pitch Day: The top 4 entries will be invited to attend the 2017 Spring Conscious Capitalism Conference taking place in Philadelphia, PA from April 18-20, 2017 (registration, travel and housing expenses will be covered by Conscious Capitalism, Inc.) to pitch their businesses in person before the final panel of judges with all expenses covered. Prior to appearing, they will be paired with leaders in the Conscious Capitalism field to help them hone their pitch.

Final round judges will be selected from the Conscious Capitalism community. Judges will be announced soon.
The business plan competition will award a grand prize of an all-expense paid trip for the team to the invitation-only 2017 Conscious Capitalism CEO Summit where the team will get to meet with the foremost leaders and practitioners of Conscious Capitalism. The CEO Summit is an invitation-only event limited to 200 executives to spend 3 days sharing their experiences and learning from one another. Past speakers at the 2015 and 2016 CEO Summits have included Randy Garutti (CEO of Shake Shack), Seth Goldman (CEO of Honest Tea), Jim Sinegal (co-founder of Costco), Selim Bassoul (CEO of The Middleby Corporation), Denise Morrison (CEO of Campbell Soup Company), and more.

- Teams of up to 4 individuals may enter.
- All team members must be students currently enrolled in school.
- All businesses must have ideas or business models in the start-up phase. Operating businesses that have earned more than $50,000 in revenue or have received $50,000 or more in funding are not eligible to enter the competition.
