Throwback Thursday: REI’s Jerry Stritzke at CC2017

|

Leading up to last year’s Conscious Capitalism Annual Conference, outdoor co-op REI was most definitely “walking the walk” of a purpose-driven company. The year prior, the company closed its doors on Black Friday as part of its #OptOutside campaign, In April of 2017, REI committed to a mission to close gaps in gear design by bringing women together outdoors with over 1,000 classes nationwide in their Force of Nature campaign. You can read more about how REI’s CEO, Jerry Stritzke leads the company in this Forbes interview published just prior to the conference.

To say we were thrilled to have Jerry Stritzke keynote at Conscious Capitalism 2017 is an understatement. No only was his exemplary Conscious Leadership respected across the Conscious Capitalism community, but he would have a surprise for both conference participants as well as the business world at large. Just a few weeks prior to the conference, REI’s published its first annual Stewardship Report, spotlighting (among many other conscious business decisions) the company’s providing $9.3 million to nonprofits all across the country which create access to the outdoors for millions of Americans.

As we gear up for the 2018 Conscious Capitalism Annual Conference, let’s take a look back at Jerry’s riveting keynote. You can watch his full session below…and then, of course, don’t miss out on the Early Bird rate by registering for this year’s conference by January 31!
