Larissa Fawkner

Larissa is a stakeholder engagement professional with experience in the private and nonprofit sectors and leadership roles in Boston, New York City, andWashington, DC. Prior to relocating to San Diego, she directed corporate relations for the Massachusetts Biotechnology Education Foundation. She also managed community relations for The Boston Globe and oversaw the Globe Foundation’s two endowments. Larissa served as marketing special projects manager for theNASDAQ MarketSite, and was the first corporate social responsibility lead forStarbucks Coffee Company’s 13-state northeast region.Early in her career, she held a number of leadership roles at the Boston Harbor Islands national park area, the American Museum of Natural History, the New York Botanical Garden, CapeCod Children’s Museum, and the Discovery Creek Children’s Museum.

Larissa has served as a FEMA disaster reservist and American Red Cross disaster volunteer with deployments on five disasters and did national media relations during Hurricane Katrina.

Larissa holds an MBA from Bentley University, a B.A. from Syracuse University, and is a graduate of the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship.Presently, Larissa serves as a community advisor for the San Diego social enterprise tech start-up, Mapigator.
