Welcome to the Bay Area Chapter of Conscious Capitalism.
If there’s one place that positive change is alive and well, it’s the San Francisco Bay Area. In the spirit of putting transformation and purpose to work, we welcome you to our Conscious Capitalism community.

We exist to elevate humanity by bringing conscious business practices to the Bay Area. Our goal is to build a community of conscious companies that will light the way for the rest of the world to see that being a conscious business is not just a nice thing to do, but a serious competitive advantage. This goal is embedded in everything we do - creating community, holding events, sharing inspiration, and providing education and training for how to actually do the work of becoming a conscious company.

Johanna Lyman is the founder and CEO of NextGen Orgs, a company devoted to making all organizations great places to work. She is a dynamic, energetic, Leadership and Business Development Coach, and Six Sigma Lean Professional (Green Belt) with impressive experience in implementing organization wide change strategies for both Fortune 500 companies and entrepreneurs. She is adept in combining coaching, training, and project leadership skills to help clients build dynamic, sustainable revenue growth while creating deep meaning with their work.

Johanna has an “impossible mission” to see world peace before she dies. She believes what Gandhi first said: to have peace in the world, we must first have peace in our hearts. And she knows from the first hand experience that led her to this work that we can’t have peace in our hearts if we’re miserable at work. In her spare time, Johanna is an avid hiker and paddler, a poet with a penchant for slam, wife to the best husband on the planet, and mom to a remarkable young woman who’s currently finding her way through the jungle of college.

North Bay Chair

“I am a financial services professional who believes that people genuinely want to take charge of their financial destinies without compromising their values. Our desire is to help our clients be more present in their interactions by removing the fears and worries about their financial futures through planning with intention & purpose. As individuals, we can serve a greater good by aligning our values around family, community, philanthropy, and society with our goals for accumulation & asset protection. This connects us to a higher purpose and brings heart to an often self-centered process.

I am honored to serve on the board of Conscious Capitalism Bay Area Chapter as the North Bay Chair. My belief is that, due to its great power and influence, business has a great responsibility to be a catalyst for positive change in the world; to lead the shift away from purely profit-centered behavior, to a conscious stakeholder orientation that fosters a workplace culture in which everyone is granted the opportunity to thrive, self actualize, and find higher purpose. This approach leads to greater innovation which naturally achieves long term profit growth & sustainability while bringing humanity back to center stage.”
