Doug Rauch recently retired from Trader Joe's, and now serves as the CEO of Conscious Capitalism
, Inc. and consults with small and large retailers. In his thirty-one years with Trader Joe's Company, the last fourteen as President, Doug played a pivotal role in their growth from a small retail chain in Southern California with nine stores to a nationally acclaimed retail success story with more than 325 stores in 26 states. He developed their prized buying philosophy, created their unique private label program, and championed their wildly successful culture of outstanding customer experience. Trader Joe's delivers a level of customer delight that wins it raving fans, and double digit growth.
Doug received his Executive M.B.A. from the Peter Drucker School of Management, Claremont University, graduating top in his class, and winning the Early Career Outstanding Entrepreneur Award from Peter Drucker. He chairs the Board of Overseers at WBUR, is a Trustee at Olin College of Engineering, and a Fellow at Harvard's Advanced Leadership Initiative.
